Hadji : “A Nancy-man in my heart”

Hadji : “A Nancy-man in my heart”

Transferred from AS Nancy-Lorraine to Stade Rennais a few weeks ago, Youssouf Hadji will live a particular moment this Sunday afternoon, when he faces his former team-mates at the Route de Lorient.

«Today I’m a Rennais, but I still remain a Nancy-man in my heart, the Moroccan striker explained on Thursday to the Est-Républicain. I will live the end of my career in Nancy”.
Having already been a Stade Rennes player between July 2005 and January 2007, the player trained at ASNL’s Academy admit that he return to a club much changed in four and a half years. “The Stade Rennais has really grown since my last spell here, Hadji affirms. There is more ambition. I could feel it before the trip to Marseille. We went there to win and we did it whereas before, we travelled to the Vélodrome only in the hope to scrap a little something”.

Although he didn’t score at the Vélodrome, he managed it this Thursday in Udine. But if he does it again this week-end against his first club, the Rennes striker won’t celebrate. “I would be very happy to score, for me and for the Stade Rennais, but I won’t express my joy, as a mark of respect for my mates at the ASNL, for the club and for the fans”, Hadji affirmed.
