Injuries: Antonetti fears « long absences » for Boukari and Mangane

Injuries: Antonetti fears « long absences » for Boukari and Mangane

Difficult Thursday evening for Stade Rennes. In addition to the defeat at Udine (1-2), the « Red and Black » could have also lost two players for a long time because of injuries. This ending inevitably reminds painful memories, for a club still traumatized by the cascade of injuries last season.

Relatively spared since the beginning of the season – for except Brahimi – Stade Rennes lost Kader Mangane and Razak Boukari on a single match this time.
The first one suffers from an ankle sprain that happened at the beginning of the match, when he tried to control an aerial ball. Prematurely substituted, the Senegalese defender watched the end of the match with crutches and an ice pocket around his ankle.
The second one made a poor landing after attempting a diving header and – according to the club’s official announcement – suffers from a shoulder dislocation, which prevented him to finish the game.

Although their unavailabilities are not yet known, Frédéric Antonetti fears « two serious injuries » and « long absences » for both players, according to L’Équipe’s website. There time of absence will be known after further examination on site and at the return to Rennes. But the Rennes’ coach will probably not be able to count on them for the match against Nancy, on Sunday.
