Injuries: Apam won’t return before October

Back to la Piverdière after several weeks of re-education in Saint-Raphaël, Onyekachi Apam started jogging again. The Nigerian defender follows, according to L’Équipe,a « final protocol of re-education and recovery », which should to a return « before the end of October, as long as everything goes well”, Frédéric Antonetti declared.

Although the player affirms that things are « getting better » since he returned from the Var, and that the trend is to recovery, he is still reportedly suffering with some pain in his knee.
If this program, which seems to be a last chance attempt, was to prove unsuccessful, Apam’s career – or at least his spell in Rennes – could well stop earlier than expected.
