Injuries: Mangane is still suffering with his ankle

Kader Mangane, who has never managed to be at 100% since the beginning of the season, is visibly still suffering with his health concerns. After suffering respiratory problems last summer, the Senegalese is still suffering with his left ankle, injured in Udine on September 15th.
According to Ouest-France, his ankle is indeed still painful and forced the Rennes captain to interrupt his training session on Tuesday morning, before keeping him out of the afternoon’s session.

At the beginning of November, Mangane had revealed that he had had to play several games under injections (read previously), and that he wished to wait for his ankle to be completely healed before returning to the competition. After a month and a half without playing, the Rennes defender had finally taken part in the final twenty minutes of the game against Bordeaux, just before the winter break.
If the injury was to be confirm, it would be a hard blow for Mangane, called-up with Senegal for the African Cup of Nations. But it will also be an issue for Frédéric Antonetti, already left without Kana-Biyik, suspended for Saturday’s game against Nancy.
