International: A Rennes youngster captain and goalscorer with France U18

Called up alongside Abdoulaye Doucouré for two games against Denmark this week, centre midfielder Eliott Sorin distinguished himself scoring a goal with U18 France, managed by Pierre Mankowski.

Winners of the first game (2-0), the young Frenchmen also won the second, even though the outcome was long to decide. Trailing 2-0, France turned the game thanks amongst others to Sorin’s goal in the first half injury time. It is the first time he ever scores with the French national shirt on.

Having only played a half in the first game, Sorin played the whole of the second match. As for Doucouré, he played twice 90 minutes. These were the first caps for both players in this age category, where Rennes defender Wesley Yamnaine was missing.
