International: Hadji injured, Morocco qualified

By beating Tanzania (3-1) this Sunday evening in Marrakech, Morocco qualified for the finals of the 2012 African Cup of Nations. The “Lions from Atlas” qualify as first in their group and could even have done with a draw, since Centrafrica was beaten in Algeria at the same time (0-2).
Dominating, the Moroccans deserved their qualification. After Chamakh opened the score twenty minutes in the game, the Tanzanians profited of one of their rare chances to equalise a few minutes before half-time. Finally, goals by Taarabt and Boussoufa allowed Éric Gerets to qualify for the fourteenth African Cup of Nations in their history.

Expected to start the game, Youssouf Hadji finally didn’t take part in the game. The Rennes striker injured himself during warm-up, and was replaced by Taarabt in the starting eleven. The nature and gravity of injury are yet to be known. The player was expected back in Brittany early this week.
