International: M’Vila qualified for the Euro, Tettey eliminated

Tuesday evening was the conclusion of the qualification rounds for the Euro 2012. The teams qualified for the final phase, but also for the play-offs are now known.

In difficulty against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Stade de France, « les Bleus » finally obtained a draw (1-1), which qualifies them directly for the finals. Virtually relegated to the play-offs during half an hour, after a goal by Dzeko, the French finally equalized thanks to a penalty obtained and transformed by Nasri.
Yann M’Vila played the whole match once again, and should take part to the next Euro except for an accident. The Rennes midfielder, deprived of balls during the first half, didn’t achieve his best performance with “Les Bleus” against Bosnia, especially with several ball losses and clear responsibility on the Bosnian goal.

Alexander Tettey, on his side, will not play the Euro 2012. Despite its victory in Oslo against Cyprus (3-1), Norway is eliminated. With the same number of points and the same particular goal difference as Portugal, the Scandinavians are beaten on the general goal difference (+9 for Portuguese, +3 for the Norwegians), and end the qualification round at the third place of their group.
Tettey started the match, as he usually does, and was substituted at the eightieth minute by Ruben Yttergård Jenssen.

Still far from decisive matches, « les Bleuets » carried on their good run in the qualifying phases of the 2013 U21 Euro, by winning 2-0 in Romania. A controlled and convincing victory from Érick Mombaerts’ players, who were solids behind and efficient forward. Two goals of Toulouse’s player Rivière in the first half were enough to obtain a third victory in as many games.
As against Kazakhstan last Friday, Chris Mavinga played the whole match at left back . The Rennes defender took his chance several times by taking part in the attacking movements, but delivered an average performance. Absent against Kazakhstan, Vincent Pajot entered in the ground for the last half-hour against Romania, finishing the game at a playmaker position.

At last, during a friendly match, the Olympic Moroccan team obtained a nice victory against Ivory Coast, in Tangier (2-0). On the bench last Friday against Gambia, Yacine Qasmi started the match at centre forward this time.
