International : Montaño won’t play the Copa América

The Colombian national team will play the next Copa América without Victor Hugo Montaño. Selected at the last gathering of his national team, the striker of Stade Rennais wasn’t called this time.

A disappointment, without a doubt, for the player, who fervently wished to play that competition with his country, but worries spared for Frédéric Antonetti and his staff.

A participation of Montaño to the Copa América would indeed have deprived him of almost the whole of the preparation for the 2011-2012 season, and prevented him to join his teammates before at least mid-July.
