International: Pitroipa qualified for the ACN

Without playing, Burkina Faso qualified for the next African Cup of Nations this Saturday. After the second of group F, Gambia, lost in Namibia (1-0), Burkina Faso is assured to finish the qualification round in first position.

This result ensures Burkina Faso to finish the qualification round at the first place, and therefore to be qualified to final round. Burkina Faso has got a six points advantage and only one game left to play (on 7th October in Gambia).
If he is selected – which should be the case without any doubt, except for an injury - Jonathan Pitroipa will leave Brittany for Gabon and Equatorial Guinea for the final phase, from 21th January to 12th February 2012. Including the preparation, the Rennes’ winger will be unavailable at least during the whole month of January.
