Kembo will not “rush his comeback”

Kembo will not “rush his comeback”

Handicapped by thigh injuries throughout the second half of the 2010-2011season, Jirès Kembo worked all summer to get rid of his muscle problems and start 2011-2012 in a better way. Questioned by Ouest-France, the young striker explained that he doesn’t want to force too hard, in order to avoid experiencing such a season again.

«In agreement with the coaching and medical staffs, we decided that I would follow a specific training program during the pre-season, once my thigh injury completely healed, the French-Congolese explained. it was necessary so I could reinforce the muscle on that level. I barely took any holidays, I worked very hard, but I really wanted to get over and done with this series of injuries, even if it should take a lot of my time».
After having spent all of the pre-season on the fringe of the professional squad, Kembo will finally train with his team-mates again, and finish his return to competiveness as the league season looms. “I’m reaching the goal but I don’t want to rush my comeback, he reminds. I don’t think I’ll be able to return in the squad before another good three weeks”.

What should be remembered then, of this painful experience? That returning too quickly can bring harsh consequences on the long-term. “Last season, I got injured a first time and I didn’t take the time to let the injury heal properly, Kembo regrets. And as soon as I forced a little bit when I returned, my thigh snapped again”. A lesson to learn, before the long season to come.
