Players on Loan: Good debut for Julienne

Frank Julienne experienced a very peculiar game this Friday, for his first competitive game with Le Havre. Sitting on the bench, he first witnessed the rout of his team against Metz, trailing 3-0 (19th minute) and then 4-1 (47’) on their home pitch in Coupe de la Ligue’s first round.

Coming off the bench one hour in the game, the little Rennes striker (on loan in Normandy for the season) clinched extra-time with a perfectly taken free-kick (44’, 88’). Le Havre eventually qualified thanks to a penalty by Ryan Mendes with only five minutes remaining (5-4 a.e.t). Altogether, Julienne has managed a good performance in the left wing of Le Havre’s attack

On July 18th, during Le Havre’s last friendly against Boulogne-sur-Mer (1-1), Julienne had already delivered an assist to Ryan Mendes. By scoring against Metz, the man from Gonesse scored his first ever professional goal. Last year, he had scored five goals with the Reserve in CFA, including a hat-trick against Lorient’s Reserve, in September 2010.
