Rennes- Belgrade : enhanced security

While Stade Rennais has willfully restrained access to the sections of the stands located in immediate proximity to the visitors’ area (read previously), exceptional security measures will be deployed during the return game of Europa League against Red Star Belgrade.

Since the draw, according to Le Mensuel de Rennes, the club’s security officials and police services are working on a plan which will be set up on the evening of thursday.

In addition to the restrained access to the stands, more than 300 persons will be involved around this game, including “250 riot police agents, about 40 men from the quick intervention troops, 20 agents from the SIR, a water cannon from Paris and dog teams”, the newspaper explain. A plan completed by policemen, officers from the anti-criminality squad, and some unit of mounted police.

Considered as "very high risk’, the game of Thursday should take place in a unusual, and slightly particular atmosphere at the Route de Lorient. The thousands of fans of Red Star Belgrade expected in Rennes will definitely be closely monitored.
