Training resumes on June 27th

According to Ouest-France, the Rennes squad will resume training on monday june 27th for the beginning of the 2011-2012 pre-season. The players, on vacation from Sunday night, will have 28 days of rest before this resumption, to the exception of those who will be selected for international games.

Pierre Dréossi has announced a few weeks agos that he wanted to count on "90% of the squad" when training will begin. Like last year, Stade Rennais should make a fast recruitement.

Date of the come back to competition will depend of their final ranking on sunday night. In case of 6th position they will start the season with two qualification games for the Europa League play-offs on july 28th and august 4th, a few days before Ligue 1’s opening games (on august 6th and 7th). If this case happened, Rennes preparation would be reduced to two friendly games.

However, in case of a 5th position finish, those friendly games would be maintained and Stade Rennais would begin to compete in Europa League with the final play-off games on august 18th and 25th.
