Transfers : Antonetti wants a striker “who brings confidence within the dressing room”

In the press conference this Wednesday, Frédéric Antonetti had said it out loud: the Stade Rennais is looking for a quality striker, an “attacking leader” to reinforce the attacking line (read previously).

During a long interview to Le 10 Sport, the Rennes manager brought additional precisions. “At our own scale, we are looking a player like Lisandro in Lyon, a player with charisma who will bring confidence within the dressing room”, Antonetti explains.
A wish shared by the club’s most senior managers, including François Pinault. «The main shareholder is completely agreeing with me, we are all on the same wavelength. But we need to find this player and this is not the easiest of things”, Antonetti tempers.

Naturally discret on the subject, the manager reveals that Stade Rennes is « tragetting three players », for which « it will probably be difficult, since they are in the very good players’ category”. Such valuable players that Antonetti even refuses to reveal in which league they are playing at the moment. “Any hint given away could result in us failing to make the transfer”, he affirmed.
