Transfers : Diallo, first recruit?

The winter transfer window will open on January 1st. While the first signatures won’t be made official before two weeks, Stade Rennais have already found their first recruit, according to the daily newspaper Corse-Matin.

A young international Guinean player aged nearly 21, Sadio Diallo has reportedly already made the object of an agreement between his current club, SC Bastia, and the the Stade Rennais. Arrived in Corsica in 2009, Diallo had made trials in Nice and in Rennes, but he wasn’t offered a contract. However, his skills had caught the attention of Frédéric Antonetti, who had advised his favourite club to recruit him.
AFter two short appearanced in Ligue 2 during the 2009-2010 season, Sadio Diallo profited of his club’s relegation to the National to show his ability. With 10 goals for his first full season in France, the attacking midfielder seduced the scouts with his technical ability and his huge potential for improvement. Last summer, FC Lorient showed an insistent interest for the player. According to L’Équipe, Bastia had then refused a 3 million euro offer from the club from Morbihan.

Six months later, it seems that SC Bastia is now ready to part with one of their most important attacking players (3 goals and assists this season in Ligue 2). Corse Matin even announce that an agreement has been found for a transfer fee of 3 million euros and additional bonuses linked to the number of games played by the youngster in Ligue 1 until June 2012. A final argument for Rennes to win the deal, the possible loan-move of a Rennes player in Bastia, probably a young defender from the professional squad (Kandji?).
Questioned by Ouest-France last night, Pierre Dréossi has refused to confirm this information, explaining that at this moment, he had found “no agreement, neither with the club, nor with the player”.
