Transfers : Dréossi makes it official for S. Diallo

Sadio Diallo will indeed join Stade Rennais last summer. Several weeks after it was announced by the SC Bastia management, Pierre Dréossi confirmed it this Wednesday via a press release from the club.

Described by the general manager as a « very technical player », Diallo is currently playing in the African Cup of Nations with Guinea. On the bench in the first game against Mali, he started the second against Botswana and scored two goals, in a position more advanced that the one he is expected to occupy in Rennes.
An attacking midfielder rather than a true forward, Diallo has been shining with Bastia since last season as a “troublemaker” for the defences, through both his passing and his dribbling. It remains to be seen whether he will make it in the top flight. “He has got the talent to manage it”, Dréossi judges, even though he didn’t keep him in Rennes after a trial in summer 2009.

Aged 21, he will finish the season with Bastia before signing a four year contract with Stade Rennais. The Rouge et Noir already know the name of their first recruit for 2012-2013.
