Transfers : Erding in approach ?

Since the announcement made this morning in L’Équipe that Stade rennais and Parisian striker Mevlüt Erding are getting closer, rumours sending the players to Brittany have renewed.

Questioned at the descent of the plane, Frédéric Antonetti explained to be « neither optimistic, nor pessimistic » about a player for whom there would be « a lot of competition ». Nevertheless, the horizon seems to be clearing for Stade rennais. Questioned by Sud-Ouest, Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud - Whose club appeared as one of the main rivals of the Stade rennais on this transfer - indicated that Erding « was not in the possibilities » of the Girondins, the club having simply « no money » to spend.

Antonetti, who assured on Friday afternoon on RMC that he knows nothing about the possible evolution of the situation - not having been able to join Pierre Dréossi since the return of Serbia - nevertheless confirmed having directly called the Turkish striker a few days ago. The Rennes coach explained that Erding seemed henceforth interested in the possibility of a transfer to Rennes, but that he continued his reflection about his future.
A situation which is expected to settle in the next days, with Stade Rennais hoping to finally close the search for a « centre-forward » two weeks before the end of the mercato.
