With good fortune and control, Rennes keep up the pace...

Ligue 1, Montpellier 0 - 1 Stade rennais. It took a magnificent goal, scored by Razak Boukari (27’) once again, to allow Rennes to get another three points. The “Rouge et Noir”’s collective command of the game, particulally in defence, did the rest.

Dalmat and Verhoek out of the squad as injured return

Ligue 1, Montpellier - Stade rennais, Saturday, 19:00 CET. Finally able to relay on a nearly complete squad, Frédéric Antonetti had to make choices at the time of building his squad for the trip to Montpellier. While Kembo is left available for the Reserve team, Mangane and Brahimi are returning. John Verhoek and more importantly Stéphane Dalmat are the victims of this decision.

A flash of brillance from Boukari, and Rennes temporarily leader

Ligue 1, Stade rennais 2 - 0 Lens. After a difficult beginning of the game, against his former team, Razak Boukari has quickly enlightened the stadium with a twenty-five meter shot in the top corner (14’). With a second goal from Montaño (70’), Antonetti’s team has simply managed perfectly the end of the game to secure their 4th consecutive win, and temporarily taking the lead of the Ligue 1.

Kana-Biyik returns against Lens

Ligue 1, Stade rennais - Lens, Saturday, 19:00 CET. Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik’s return from injury is the main information from the publication of a Rennes squad in which Brahimi, Kembo and Mangane are still missing. In Lens, Laszlo Bölöni will have to do without his captain Adil Hermach.

In the Pinault era, László Bölöni will remain as one of the managers who truly contributed to help Stade Rennais FC evolve at the middle of the 2000s. A pioneer in his duty, the Romanian from Hungarian descent brought in an infallible method of work, which would allow Rennes to return to the European stage after a drought of nearly thirty years. Taciturn in appearance but a friendly manager in private, Bölöni returns to the Stade de la Route de Lorient for the second time since his departure in June 2006. And he returns as a hero.
