Rennes ease past Nancy

The Stade Rennais did not have any troubles to beat Nancy, 3-0 on Saturday night, and earned their first success of the 2010-2011 seasons. Rennes was helped by the circumstances, playing against ten men after only fifteen minutes, but waiting for the second half to break the deadlock through Montaño (50’). Brahimi with a superb shot (58’) and Bangoura (87’) added to the score line for Rennes.

Marveaux forfeit for Nancy game

Eighteen players will be travelling to Lorraine for the game against Nancy this Saturday, 7 pm. Suspended against Lille for the first game week, Montaño and M'Vila are back in the squad. Sylvain Marveaux is missing because of an adductor injury, Doumbia has been left in Rennes with the return of last week-end’s suspended players. No other changes compared to the group of eighteen players called against Lille.

Stade Rennais - Lille : Promises, Promises!

Stade Rennais - Lille: With many regrets

In their first Ligue 1 game of the season, Rennes and Lille ended up on a draw (1-1). Rennes had the edge for most of the encounter, but the “Rouge et Noir” lacked composure in front of the goal to get past their opponents. An encouraging draw however, as Frédéric Antonetti’s men showed real abilities, to be confirmed in the near future.

Stade Rennais - Lille: Let's start on a good note

This Saturday (21:00), the Stade Rennais will face Lille in the 2010-2011 Ligue 1 first game week. A difficult opening for the “Rouge et Noir”, opposed to a direct competitor for Europe. The mission won’t be easy against one of the title contenders, but this game could also be an occasion for Frédéric Antonetti’s men to sublime after a rather tasteless pre-season.
