Born in Laval, Quentin Rouger joined the Stade Rennais FC Academy in June 2005. Over the years, he became one of the club’s best rated youngsters. After starting playing with the Reserve in February 2009, he was also honoured with the “Academy’s Best Player” Award. An award which illustrious players such as Mikaël Silvestre or Sylvain Wiltord had received before him. After signing a contract as an intern, the attacking-midfielder became a regular member of the Reserve, despite an occasional lack of consistency in his performances. Having a potential for solid further improvement, he was offered a first professional contract for one year and two more years in option, in April 2011.
