Transfers, Gyan : Negotiations between Rennes and Fenerbahçe

While the media have been relaying Fenerbahçe’s strong interest for Asamoah Gyan since quite a few days now, things seems to materialise little by a little. Indeed, according to our information, Patrick Le Lay will meet the Turkish club’s management tomorrow to discuss the striker’s transfer fee.

The latest offer to date from Fenerbahçe is said to be reaching 14.5 million euros (including 13 million for the transfer, and 1.5 to Udinese as a commission on benefits made over the player’s sale), and additional bonuses of 3 million. Rennes is requesting another 3 million.

On July 13th, speaking to RMC, Pierre Dréossi had announced he “isn’t closing the door” to Gyan’s departure. “If we were proposed 15 million euros, we would consider the offer“, he then explained before measuring his words “However, we would like Gyan to remain at the club, and it is highly likely he will still play for Rennes next year. There are offers we could not refuse, but we haven’t received anything close to that type of offer”.

As for the player, he seems to be waiting for clarification from the Breton club on his situation. Tuesday night on RMC, he gave his views on his future: « if a club contacts me, we will have to sit around a table and talk. I won’t start a fight. Rennes has to decide on the offers, and I’m still under contract with them for another two years ».
