Fabien Lemoine and Alexander Tettey return
Ligue 1, Stade rennais - Valenciennes, Saturday 19 :00 CET. Good news this week-end, with the return of two important players to add some depth to Rennes’ midfield. Lemoine and Tettey are back in the squad after long weeks on the side-lines. The defence however, is decimated after Souprayen had to pull out.
Frédéric Antonetti called a squad of nineteen players for the game against Valenciennes. Returns of Lemoine and Tettey are the biggest information of the day, with the Breton midfielder returning to top flight competitive football after 4 months of absence and a return to competition last week-end with the Reserve (also read). As for the Norwegian, he is included in the squad after recovering from a thigh injury. Hopefully a lasting return for him. These two returns should be bringing additional solutions to the Stade Rennes manager at midfield.
Solutions, Antonetti would probably like to have more to set up his defence. After Rod Fanni’s transfer this week, the Corsican has to do with Souprayen’s injury. The young defender had to pull out of the game (read previously). The two players were present in the starting eleven at Bordeaux last week, and their absence is a certain blow, especially with Kévin Théophile Catherine still nursing a buttock injury.
In attack however, the uncertainty about Jirès Kembo Ekoko’s presence in the squad has been lifted (read previously). The forward should be present on Saturday evening.
