Back to the Training Grounds!
After more than a month holidays, the Stade Rennais players came back to training this Thursday morning, to prepare the 2010-2011 season. A pre-season camp and six friendly games are on the menu for the “Rouge et Noir” before the new Ligue 1 season opens, with a home game against Lille on the 7th August.
Frédéric Antonetti’s squad was back to the training ground this Thursday. Back from holidays, the players spent the first training session jogging at the Henri Guérin training center. The end of the week will be mainly focused on medical tests.
Evidently, several members of the squad were missing for this first training, such as Asamoah Gyan and Carlos Bocanegra, currently playing the World Cup with their respective national teams. However, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik was present, just as John Boye, whose contract is expiring at the end of June.
20 players took part to this first training session: Nicolas Douchez, Cheikh N’Diaye - John Boye, Romain Danzé, Bira Dembele, Yassine Jebbour, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, Samuel Souprayen, Kévin Théophile-Catherine - Yacine Brahimi, Tongo Hamed Doumbia, Fabien Lemoine, Jérôme Leroy, Sylvain Marveaux, Yann Mvila, Prince Oniangue, Alexander Tettey - Abdoul Camara, Lhadji Badiane, Jires Kembo-Ekoko. Ismaël Bangoura and Kader Mangane were left to rest.
Until July 7th, Antonetti’s players will train at the Piverdiere sports complex, before the traditional pre-season camp in Carnac. Six friendly games are planned during this pre-season preparation, including one at the Route de Lorient Stadium, against the Legia Varsovie, on the 28th July.
