Johann Carrasso in the spotlight

Successfully operated of the inguinal canal in Munich, Nicolas Douchez is required to rest until January 3rd. The surgery had been scheduled since weeks, in order to solve a minor injury which had been handicapping the goalkeeper since several months.

Douchez will logically be replaced in the goals by Johann Carrasso. The former Montpellier goalkeeper, arrived in Rennes this summer to concurrence Douchez, has only played one game so far this season. It was in the Coupe de la Ligue, during Rennes’ debacle at Guingamp. Carasso will have another chance to show his qualities, this Wednesday in Caen.

Other news, Kévin Théophile-Catherine returns in the squad. The defender was injured since several weeks at the buttock. He returns in a defence where Samuel Souprayen is still missing with a thigh injury.

For this game, Frédéric Antonetti’s squad is extended to twenty players, with Abdoulaye Diallo selected as the second goalkeeper. Two Rennes players will therefore watch the game from the stands at the Stade Michel d’Ornano.

For the Normands, Damien Marcq is banned for this match. Franck Dumas has called upon Branko Lazarevic to complete his squad.
