Kembo and Kana-Biyik return
Ligue 1, Stade Rennais - Valenciennes, Sunday, 17:00 CET. Following two consecutive defeats and elimination in the Coupe de la Ligue, Rennes is expected to react, this Sunday against Valenciennes. A game in which Antonetti will be able to rely on Kembo and Kana-Biyik, both returning after their injuries.
After taking a 23-player squad in Scotland to face Celtic Glasgow on Thursday night, Frédéric Antonetti is returning to a more restrained group. Therefore, he has only called 19 players to face Valenciennes. First consequence: Apam, called for this first time this season against Celtic, is not included in the group, nor are N’Diaye, Foulquier and Sané who all made the trip to Scotland.
No other change is to be noted in the group’s composition, except for the fact that Antonetti will be able to rely on a more complete squad. Present in Glasgow despite minor injuries, Kana-Biyik and Kembo have indeed recovered and should be able to take part in the game. However, already missing for Thursday’s game, Boye and Brahimi – respectively suffering with a thigh and ankle injury – didn’t make the 19, just like Dalmat. The latter is still suffering with his adductors and his currently following a recovery program.
In Valenciennes, Daniel Sanchez is left without several important players because of injuries. The VAFC manager will therefore have to do without Pujol and Dossevi, suffering with adductors injuries, as well as Rafael and Loriot. Suspended, Ducourtioux won’t do the trip to Brittany either.
