Pre-season : Off to Carnac !

A month away from the Ligue 1 opening, the Stade Rennais is heading to Carnac, where the traditional pre-season camp will be held as it has been for the last 8 years.

During this camp, the “Rouge et Noir” will go through two training sessions a day, in order to build-up their fitness levels progressively. These sessions, as usual, will be help at Carnac’s town stadium, from this Thursday.

The Rennais will remain in the Morbihan for six days, and play the first of their pre-season friendlies against Bruno Cheyrou’s FC Nantes, on July 14th.

Unlike for the first two weeks, Frédéric Antonetti will be able to rely on his Cameroon international Georges Mandjeck, just arrived back from playing the World Cup with his national team. Back after undergoing surgery on his right knee, Onyekachi Apam is currently training alone, but he should join the team’s training within the next few days.

Rested since the beginning of this week, Bira Dembelé (hamstring), Johann Carrasso and Alexander Tettey (quadriceps) are suffering with light injuries and should be back soon, according to Ouest-France.

In addition to these absences, Renne’s coach will obivously have to do without Carlos Bocanegra and Asamoah Gyan, only due back on July 26th after their participation in the World Cup. As for Abdoulaye Diallo, selected with the U19 France national squad, he will play the U19 Euro in Normandy, from July 18th to 30th .
