Former players : Bocanegra is off to Scotland

In a rather unexpected move, the former defender of Stade rennais Carlos Bocanegra was hired by the Glasgow Rangers this Wednesday. The captain of the American national team signed a three-year contract with the Scottish club.

An important player of AS Saint-Etienne since his arrival last summer, Bocanegra still wore the captain’s armband during the first game week of Ligue 1. This transfer comes to close an episode of three French years in the career of the Californian, arrived at Stade rennais in June 2008.

Lined-up thirty four times in the league last year, Bocanegra is getting ready to discover his fourth league, after he began in MLS with Chicago Fire before making his European debuts with Fulham in the Premier League.
