On Wednesday afternoon, Laurent Blanc announced his squad for France’s next friendly, to be played against England at Wembley. Rennes’ Yann M’Vila will be involved in the game, while Rod Fanni will remain in Brittany

There were few doubts about Yann M’Vila’s presence in the list unveiled by Laurent Blanc this Wednesday. Included in the selection, the midfielder will be able to show all his talent to England on Wednesday, November 17th.

M’vila will be the only Rennes player involved in Wembley. Having fully recovered from the injury that kept him away from the pitches since August, Rod Fanni wasn’t chosen by Laurent Blanc. In competition with Bacary Sagna and Anthony Réveillère at right back, Fanni is also penalised by the fact he was repositioned as a centre-back by Frédéric Antonetti. Indeed, the national coach always repeated his intention to only use players at the position that is theirs with their club.

In the list, one could also note the absence of Jimmy Briand, despite his great form with Olympique Lyonnais over the last weeks. Alongside Réveillère, another former «Rouge et Noir» is included in the squad, Lyon’s Yoann Gourcuff.
