In addition to Yann M’Vila’s suspension, Frédéric Antonetti will have to do without Victor Hugo Montaño for Renne’s reception of Lille in the league’s first gameweek, on August 7th.

Announced by Le Mensuel de Rennes, this information had gone unnoticed, but “Pepito” will indeed miss this game. With Montpellier, he had indeed been warned at Le Mans (2-2, GW 32), against Lyon (0-1, GW 35) and against Lorient (1-0, GW 37) last season, three yellow cards in less than ten games. Montaño was therefore sentenced to a one-match ban by the League’s Disciplinary Committee, on their 12th May meeting.

The new Rennes striker will now have to wait another week and a game in Nancy to officially launch his career under his new colours. The Colombian should then play his first match at the Route de Lorient against Saint-Etienne, on August 21st.
