Unable to score since he joined the Olympique Lyonnais, Jimmy Briand scored his first goals with the seven-time French champion on Saturday evening. Indeed, the former Rennes striker managed to score a brace on the pitch of Nancy’s Marcel Picot stadium (2-3). He also delivered an assist to Lisandro Lopez. The French international had not scored since May 5th and a game in Marseille (3-1, Game Week 37). This is only the third double in his professional career, after those managed against Saint-Étienne (2-0, Coupe de France, 2008-2009) and Le Mans (1-3, Ligue 1, 2009-2010).

During this game, another former “Rouge et Noir” player impressed, Julien Féret. With a goal and an assist, the Saint-Brieux born Nancy player shows once more his ability against a team in the French top flight. During the week, l’Est Républicain reported that the Breton midfielder had received a pre-convocation for France’s two international games against Romania and Luxemburg.
