Valenciennes - Rennes : uncertainties about Montaño

Suspended last week against the Girondins de Bordeaux (0-0), will Victor Hugo Montaño miss out again this week-end in Valenciennes? Following hip pains during the week, the former Montpellier player is currently doubtful for the trip to Valenciennes on Sunday.

In the pre-match press conference, Frédéric Antonett admitted he was still unsure about Montaño’s presence in the north of France: “There was a small alert for Victor (Montaño). He is much better today. It doesn’t look too bad, but we’ve had so much trouble since the beginning of the season, I’d rather stay cautious”, the Rennes manager explained. If Rennes’ best goal scorer this season (7 goals) was to miss, John Verhoek could earn another start. Unless Razak Boukari is brought it as centre forward, in which case Antonetti would probably start with Leroy on the left wing.
