In Marseille, Stéphane M’bia has restarted his permanent one man show. Just after signing for the club last summer, the player had announced he planned to realise a great season with Marseille before joining a bigger club. The episode triggered some mockery at the time, but did not stop the Cameroon international to sulk when Didier Deschamp decided to use him as a central defender.

An atypical character in a very polished world, M’bia had already been remarked for reporting back to training three days later than the rest of the squad without warning his employer. Missing the game against Lorient this week-end because of a knee injury, the former Rennes midfielder is flying to his country today to meet… a marabout.

Having been denied a salary increased a few days ago, the player considered this travel in Africa the best idea to irritate his management. He will never change.
