A “very, very slow” return for Apam

A “very, very slow” return for Apam

Is Onyekachi Apam on his way to full recovery? According to Frédéric Antonetti, the situation of the Nigerian international seems to improve after the latest medical diagnosis, but the player is « still feeling some pain, even though it isn’t as strong”, the manager announced to Ouest-France yesterday, adding that the return of the centre back remains “very, very slow” at this time.
Back in March, the return of Apam had been shortly considered by the coaching staff, but his return to fitness schedule had been disrupted by a benign knee injury.

Since his transfer from Nice (for about five million euros), Apam is yet to play any game with the Stade Rennais (with the professional squad or the reserve). He played his last competitive game to date on April 17th 2010 during an away game in Lens with Nice (0-0), an eternity for the unfortunate player.
