International: This week-end's results

Several Rennes players were playing for their country this week-end: an overview of their results and performances.

- In the starting eleven at the Stade de France, Yann M’Vila took part in Les Bleus’ victory against Romania on Saturday evening (2-0). The midfielder, playing slightly in front of captain Alou Diarra and behind Samir Nasri, played the whole game for his fourth cap. Generally, the press is considering his performance as “rough”, Underlining his lack of regularity throughout the game.

It remains to be seen whether the young Rennes player will start again against Luxemburg, on Tuesday in Metz.

- In the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifications, Senegal destroyed Jonathan Bru’s Mauritius in Dakar (7-0). A member of the starting eleven, Kader Mangane also played the whole game in central defence. Among the other former Rennes player in this game, Moussa Sow profited of the sloppy Mauritian defending to score a goal, his attack team-mates Papiss Cissé and Mamadou Niang scoring a hat-trick and a double respectively.

With two victories in as many games, Senegal is well engaged in their qualifying group.

- A group that also includes Cameroon, unable to do better than a draw against the Democratic Republic of Congo (1-1). Georges Mandjeck, on the bench at kick-off, came in for the last ten minutes of this game to replace Marcel Ndjeng. After Diba Ilunga opened the score-line, Cameroon managed to equalise a bit before the hour mark through an own-goal by defender Nkulukuta.
A bad result for the Untamed Lions of Cameroon who leave Senegal alone on top of the group. The next two games between both sides will be decisive in the qualification race.

- In Europe, and more precisely in Austria, France U19 qualified this Sunday for the age category’s Euro last qualifying round. A logical success against Montenegro (2-0) after the previous victory against San Marino on Friday (3-0), will allow the young Frenchmen to play their last group game against Austria in all serenity on Wednesday.

A substitute against San Marino, Abdoulaye Diallo remained on the bench this Sunday, Philippe Bergeroo preferring to start the game with Le Havre’s Zacharie Boucher.
