Mangane : “a six centimetres muscle tear”

Mangane : “a six centimetres muscle tear”

Questioned by Senegalese newspaper Le Quotidien, Kader Mangane has given more information about the injury he picked-up last Saturday in Sochaux.

It happened on an action where I was on a duel with a striker (Ed.: Maïga,, on the chance leading to Douchez’ sending off), the Rennes captain explained. At some point, I lost my balance and I wanted to remain on my feet. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the good decision and I immediately felt a sharp pain behind my thigh. I probably pulled too hard on the leg and it remained blocked. It caused a big tear behind”.

Mangane, who is scared of being unavailable for « a month, or maybe even more » because of this « six centimetres » tear to the left thigh, is particularly disappointed with the way things are going. “I was returning to my best level, he affirms. Everything was going fine physically. I was in great form. […] I really didn’t think about an injury. I was feeling great. Unfortunately, I will have to miss out again for some time. It’s football. You have to put up with it and try returning soon”.

The Centre back will miss Rennes’ next few games and the friendly between Senegal and Guinea, for which he had been called up.
