Convoked by the LFP’s Commission of Discipline this Thursday, Lyon midfielder Miralem Pjanic has been suspended of a firm two matches ban.
A decision which follows the nasty challenge by the OL’s player on Victor Hugo Montaño, on March 19th. Pjanic had stuck his studs on the Colombian’s striker leg, only receiving a yellow card. The game’s referee Antony Gautier had then transmitted an additional report to the commission which, after reviewing the incident, finally punished the Bosnian midfielder.
A two match ban, half less than the sentence served by Tongo Doumbia after a terrible Bordeaux – Rennes. At the time, the Rennes midfielder had been inflicted a four-match ban for a challenge very similar to Pjanic’s.
