In a joint interview to L’Équipe and Le Parisien, French national team manager Laurent Blanc had a look at his first fifteen months with Les Bleus, and notably at how to rebuild a competitive squad after the failure in the 2010 World Cup.
Laurent Blanc didn’t hesitate to consider Yann M’Vila as one of the senior members of his squad, as a proof of the dimension taken by the Rennes midfielder with “Les Bleus”. “This team has got a spine with Lloris, Méxès, M’Vila and Benzema», explained the national coach, also naming three potentially important players: Abidal, Ribéry and Nasri.
Since his first game with France on 11 August 2012 in Norway, M’Vila has played fifteen games out of seventeen with France, starting in thirteen of these.
