Kana-Biyik called up with... France U21

After the withdrawal of Montpellier’s Mapou Yangambiwa, Erick Mombaerts decided to call Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik for the friendly games against Turkey and Denmark on October 8th and 12th. He will be joining Yacine Brahimi, the only Rennes player selected in France U21 so far.

This could be the last time the former Le Havre defender wears the tricolore jersey, as recent rumours have been filtering of an interest from Kana-Biyik to play his international football with Cameroon. Javier Clemente, the “Untamed Lions”’ new manager would appreciate to have the young Rennes defender in his squad, who managed excellent performances at centre-back since Rod Fanni’s injury in August.
