Transfers: Saint-Étienne announce Lemoine

AS Saint-Étienne announced this Tuesday evening, that they have found an agreement in principle for the transfer of Fabien Lemoine. The press releases published on the club’s website precised that the “last details will be finalised on Wednesday” in order to complete the midfielder’s transfer.

This is a confirmation of the change of situation that shaped during the day, as Lemoine was initially expected to be either loaned or transferred to Évian Thonon Gaillard. Left out of the squad by Frédéric Antonetti at the beginning of the season, the man from Fougeres seemed likely to only have limited playing time this season because of the strong competition at midfield (with Féret and M’Vila irremovable, only one place remained to be taken by Dalmat, Doumbia, Lemoine, Pajot and Tettey, or even Mandjeck).
According to L’Équipe this Tuesday morning, Lemoine had requested transfer himself. A request which convinced the Rennes management to let him go, two years before the end of his contract.
