Montaño out for four weeks

Montaño out for four weeks

All fans, followers, even Frédéric Antonetti himself were dreading it and hoped it would not happen. Yet, Victor Hugo Montaño will be missing the next four weeks because of a hamstring injury. The Colombian striker came out of the field at the 76th minute during the game against Toulouse (3-1) on Sunday.

Now, the “Rouge et Noir” management are facing their responsibilities; Responsible of letting three centre forwards leave in the last hours of the transfer window: Lhadji Badiane (loaned to Dijon), Ismaël Bangoura (Al-Nasr) et Asamoah Gyan (Sunderland). Under the threat of a suspension after his next yellow card, Jirès Kembo-Ekoko should be given the position as a striker for the next games, with Abdoul Razzagui Camara, usually a left winger, as the only alternative choice.

The question of the recruitment of an attacking joker could come back in the next days. The names of Gonzalo Bergessio (Saint-Étienne), Razak Boukari (Lens), Pierre-Alain Frau (Lille), Yoan Gouffran (Bordeaux) and Grégory Pujol (Valenciennes) have been heard over the last few weeks. Especially after Frédéric Antonetti made it clear over the last few days, that the recruitment of a striker wasn’t a desire, but really a necessity.
