Statistics. Often criticised for failing to give a place to local players, is Stade Rennes that far from its regional setting? With three Breton players and a lot of foreigners in its squad, is Rennes more distant to its base than other Ligue 1 clubs? Not so simple…

Ligue 1, Stade Rennais 1 - 0 Bordeaux. On the verge of implosion before the game, Rennes will enter the winter break with renewed serenity after a good victory against the Girondins. Rennes, shaky in the first half, was much more enterprising in the second, thanks in part to the entrance of Brahimi at half-time.

Ligue 1, Stade rennais - Bordeaux, Wednesday 19 :00 CET. For their last game in 2011, Stade Rennes will be under pressure to achieve a good result against Bordeaux. Mandjeck is the only absent while Mangane could return to the starting eleven.

Ligue 1, Ajaccio 1 - 0 Stade Rennais. Rennes struggles against the strugglers. Beaten by Ajaccio at the term of a very disappointing game, the Bretons – already beaten in Nice and held to a draw by Brest – are progressively losing touch with Ligue 1’s leading teams.

Europa League, Atlético Madrid 3 - 1 Stade rennais. By conceding three goals, all caused by individual errors, Stade Rennais has once again failed despite a good start to the game. With a reshuffled starting eleven, Rennes was equal to Atlético Madrid before collapsing in the closing ten minutes of the first half. A very costly absence.

Already out of the Europa League, Stade Rennes will play its final group phase game, on Thursday at Atlético Madrid. A prestigious game which will be used to give time on the field to players lacking it, rather than experience to the first team regulars.

Europa League, Atlético Madrid - Stade rennais, Thursday 21:05 CET and Ligue 1, Ajaccio - Stade rennais, Sunday 17:00 CET. Flown to Madrid this Wednesday evening, an enlarged Rennes squad of 25 players will then fly directly to Corsica without returning to Brittany. Without Dalmat but with Apam, Boukari, Kembo and Mangane.

Ligue 1, Stade Rennais 1 - 1 Brest. Behind on the score board after fifteen minutes, Rennes reacted well and equalised through Danzé. Antonetti’s men could not convert their domination with a goal. Because of their inability to find solutions and finish off chances, the Rennes are dropping two points at home.

Ligue 1, Stade rennais - Brest, Saturday 19:00 CET. Although he suffered a light thigh injury, Jirès Kembo is in the squad to face Brest. This is not the case for Razak Boukari, once again injured and out of the squad.

Before the derby against Brest, Frédéric Antonetti regrets that Stade Rennes is considered as equal to Lille, Lyon, Marseille and Paris. He explains that the difference in terms of financial power and the work accomplished by the club’s academy should be acknowledged more clearly.
