Frank Julienne turns professional

This Wednesday, Stade Rennes officially announced the first professional contract for a young striker, graduate of the Club’s Academy.

Included to the Professional squad in a few occasions since the beginning of this season Frank Julienne has signed a contract with the Stade Rennais until June 2013.

A forward, equally able to play on a central role or on the wings, Julienne is a rather small player, skilled in front of the goals, with good pace and strength. After Yassine Jebbour, he is the second 1991 born player to sign a professional contract at the Stade Rennais.

Born in the Parisian area, he started football at Garges-les-Gonesse, then Sarcelles, before he was recruited by ES Troyes in December 2004. A bit less than three years later, he was recruited by Stade Rennes.

Soon, Julienne displayed all his qualities. The best Rennes goal scorer with the U17 during the 2007-2008 season, he was upgraded in the U19 team the same year, and played a few minutes during the campaign towards the The Gambardella Cup win. Over the following seasons, he made himself a place in the Reserve team, knocking at the door of the professional squad. This year, he has scored four goals in ten games with the Reserve.
