Dalmat “happy” to be in Rennes

Dalmat “happy” to be in Rennes

Interviewed on RMC, Stéphane Dalmat expressed his thought on his transfer to the Stade Rennais for the next two years. Now 31 years old, the midfielder explained his "satisfaction" to join a team with "high ambitions".

The transfer was long to finalise however, as the player implies: "It’s a new challenge for me. It’s been a bit longer than expected, but finally I signed. This should be my last or maybe my penultimate club."

Now a Rennes player until June 2012, Dalmat recognised he had been in touch with Rennes’ management since "early april” and confirmed he had been fast to give a positive reply: "Their offer was matching everything I was looking for, so it didn’t take long for us to agree. It took a bit longer with Sochaux, but I’m here and happy to be”.

As the new season approaches, Dalmat also discussed his future role in the team: "I have to be decisive forwards, but also bring my experience and a certain form of maturity to the younger players. At my age, I’m in my best condition. My envy is the same as it was when I was 20. I’m feeling better and better, I’m always improving”, he finished.
