Former Players: Chapuis remains jobless, Mensah on loan again

On trial since nearly two weeks at Arles Avignon, Cyril Chapuis failed to convince Michele Estevan’s staff. Despite a goal in Arles’ final friendly against Saint Etienne (2-1), the former Rennes has been without a club since he left Metz in June 2009.

Loaned to Sunderland last season, John Mensah is joining the Black Cats on loan again, but this time with a purchase option. Never really adapted to life in Lyon after all sorts of problems, the Ghanaian international will be transferred to Sunderland if he plays at least 25 professional games with the Premier League side this season.
