Referees: A Premiere at the Roudourou

This Wednesday, from 8 :45 pm, the Stade de Roudourou will host a Premiere in the Stade Rennais history. M. Fautrel, the game’s referee, will be helped not by two but by four assessors.

The Coupe de la Ligue will be experimenting five men refereeing this season, a practice already installed in the UEFA Europa League last year.
During all games, the main referee will be assisted by assessors standing behind the goals, whose function is to detect any fouls in the penalty area and confirm validity of any goals scored.

Until now, the Stade Rennais had never been experiencing this new refereeing system. On this occasion, M. Fautrel will receive the help of MM. Stéphane Jochem and Guillaume Vaugeois, while MM. Gringore and Fabrice Meslin will be the traditional sideline assessors.
