International: Cameroon want Kana Biyik

International: Cameroon want Kana Biyik

With five U21 Caps with France to his name, Jean-Armel Kana Biyik could soon be wearing the Cameroon national shirt. Regardless, the defender won’t be playing with France U21 anymore, after his age generation was knocked out in the qualifications of the U21 2011 Euro.

Born in Metz, the son of Cameroon international André Kana-Biyik, the Rennes defender has got the possibility to become himself an “untamed lion”, rather than remaining faithful to the French blue shirt.

A possibility evoked by his uncle, former Rennes player François Omam-Biyik, who became Cameroon’s national manager assistant a few weeks ago, working with national coach Javier Clemente.

« He is more than ever ready to play for the Lions », Omam-Biyik affirmed in a discussion related by Football365.fr. The former striker précised that a meeting should be taking place after the next international fixture, in order to try and find an agreement with the young player.

If this was to be confirmed, Jean-Armel Kana Biyik would join the contingent of Cameroon internationals playing or having played for the Stade Rennais, alongside is uncle François Omam-Biyik, Georges Mandjeck, Stéphane Mbia, Louis M’Fédé or Jean-Joël Perrier-Doumbé.
