Stade rennais - Arles-Avignon : Douchez returns

Handicapped by recurrent groin pain, Nicolas Douchez had been forced to shorten his first half of the season to undergo inguinal canal surgery, on December 21st in Munich (Germany). Recovering quicker than expected, he was already included in the squad for the Coupe de France round of 64 game against Cannes (7-0)

According to France Football’s website, Douchez should be returning in the starting eleven this Saturday (21:00) against Arles-Avignon, bottom of Ligue 1. Consequently, Johann Carrasso, who managed a good interim during his team-mate’s absence, will return to the bench for this game. Good news for Frédéric Antonetti who will already have to do without Stéphane Dalmat and Victor Hugo Montaño. Hit with thigh and hamstring injuries, the two players are likely to miss two to three weeks of action. Not forgetting Tongo Hamed Doumbia, who will miss this game because of a suspension.
