Gambardella : An easy victory for Rennes

For their first match in the Gambardella Cup, the Stade Rennais U19 qualified with ease this Sunday afternoon.

Travelling to Plabennec, the young Rennais won by three goals to nothing.

Rennes opened the score line a bit before the half hour through Zana Allée, before missing a penalty. A miss that would remain without consequence on the final result, since Anouar El Guennouni doubled the advantage at the beginning of the second half, before Rennes captain Dimitri Foulquier sealed the win.

A good result for a young Rennes team only including one player born in 1992 (goalkeeper Vincent Dorel) and four players upgraded from the 1994 generation (left back Antoine Tchang-Tchong, defensive midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko and forwards Allée and El Guennouni).

Régis Le Bris’ players are therefore qualified for the round of 64, which will be played on February 6th.
