Contracts: Jebbour’s future in jeopardy

Contracts: Jebbour's future in jeopardy

With a contract ending in 2012, Yassine Jebbour is in a difficult position. Barred on the full-back positions, right or left, he was only offered his first appearance in Ligue 1 because of a cascade of injuries last December.

Wishing to gather experience on loan, the French-Moroccan has faced a strict refusal from Rennes’ management, the squad being too reduced to allow the departure of a player.

Consequently, Jebbour doesn’t know what his future will be made of. “My wish is to stay here, the young defender explain to magazine Foot Bretagne this month. I really want to make it in Rennes, I have to break through, it’s my desire!

In the background for Jebbour, who « isn’t scared” by the competition inside the squad, discussions failing to result with Rennes’ management, in order to extend the three-year contract he signed in 2009. “I don’t know if it will happen, the former INF youngster worries. Mr. Dréossi is quite, how to say, difficult. I don’t know if he is able to make an effort for a player trained in Rennes”.

As a consequence, Jebbour regrets a « blurry situation », in a « quite unstable » position. “As far as a project for the future is concerned, I have no certainties, I have nothing”, he continues. If Stade Rennes doesn’t want me, more teams are following me in L1 and abroad. The will ne no problem if I have to leave”.
