Rennes - Lens : Maoulida suspended

Sent off against Sochaux (2-3) last Saturday, Toifilou Maoulida won’t do the trip to Brittany this week-end. Indeed, the former Stade Rennais FC striker was shown a red card by referee M. Varela after an argument with Sochaux’ Kévin Anin at the end of the first half. Positioned as a right winger since the arrival of László Bölöni at RC Lens, he should be replaced by Ivorian Kanga Akalé.

Alongside Maoulida, the former Stade Rennes manager was also punished during the game against Sochaux, as he was also asked to leave the pitch half an hour before the end of the game. This followed an exchange of words between Bölöni and the game’s referee. However, waiting for his case his examined by the commission of discipline, the Romanian will indeed be present on Rennes’ touchline next Saturday.
